World Artist Award at Busan International Environment Art Festival

I am deeply honoured and grateful to share that I have received the World Artist Award from the 22nd Busan International Environment Art Festival (BIEAF) in South Korea.
The Lost Center – Invitation Exhibition 2026
The award is connected to the invitation exhibition “The Lost Center”, curated by the BIEAF 2025 Committee. My awarded work will be exhibited at:
Daecheong Gallery
📍 Busan Catholic Center, Busan, South Korea
🗓 January 30 – February 5, 2026.
🎉 Official Awards Ceremony: January 30, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.
The exhibition explores themes of displacement, balance, and the fragile relationship between humanity, nature, and inner orientation — topics that resonate strongly with my own artistic concerns.
Awarded Work: Chalk–Stone–White
The work selected for this award comes from my photographic series Chalk–Stone–White. This ongoing project investigates materiality, surface, and the quiet tension between permanence and erosion. Through restrained colour, texture, and form, the series reflects on geological time, memory, and the silent narratives embedded in natural materials.
I am especially grateful that this body of work will be presented within an environmental art context, as the series itself is rooted in observation, landscape, and a contemplative relationship with the natural world.
You can view the project here: Chalk–Stone–White.
With Gratitude
My sincere thanks go to the Busan International Environment Art Festival, the jury, and the curatorial team for their trust and support. I am also thankful to everyone who continues to follow, support, and engage with my work — your presence makes these moments even more meaningful.
— Monika K. Adler, London, 2026.
