Postcards from the Edge 2026

Postcards from the Edge: Supporting
Visual AIDS Through Photography

Monika K Adler, Chernobyl of Love, 26th Visual Aids Benefit, postcards from the edge, Charity Auction in New York.

Every January, I have the honour of participating in Postcards from the Edge, a renowned benefit exhibition supporting Visual AIDS, held annually in New York City. Over the years, this exhibition has become an important and meaningful tradition in my artistic practice.

In 2026, I donated a photographic work from my collection Chalk Stone White. In previous years, I contributed works from several other bodies of work:

2025 – Pelican Blood
2024 – Sick Bacchus
2023 – Nostalgia series
2022 – Derange in London series

Each donation reflects a different chapter of my photographic journey, and I value the opportunity to share these works within a context that combines art, community, and social responsibility.

My photography has been warmly received by New York collectors, and works have been acquired directly at the exhibition by individuals from both the business and art sectors. Knowing that my work resonates with such a diverse audience—while also contributing to a vital cause—makes this experience especially rewarding.

About Visual AIDS

Visual AIDS is a New York–based nonprofit organisation founded in 1988. Its mission is to utilise art to fight AIDS by provoking dialogue, supporting artists living with HIV/AIDS, and preserving the legacy of those lost to the disease. Through exhibitions, education, and direct assistance programs, Visual AIDS continues to play a crucial role in raising awareness and fostering compassion through creative expression.

Postcards from the Edge is one of Visual AIDS’ most important fundraising events. Artists from around the world donate postcard-sized works, which are exhibited anonymously and sold to support the organization’s programs. The exhibition is celebrated not only for its accessibility and inclusivity, but also for the powerful sense of solidarity it creates between artists, collectors, and advocates.

I am grateful to be part of this ongoing initiative and proud to support Visual AIDS through my work. Art has the power to connect, heal, and give voice—and participating in Postcards from the Edge reminds me why that power matters.
