In the terror of standing among “good people,” my Ego becomes my God.

 Among those who eat, who cry, who spill their lives openly, My Ego is my God.

Among kind people, faces smeared with life and dirt, My Ego is my God.

But where is God?

Where is the naked presence—the raw mystery of being?

Where you kneel before life itself and whisper: Thank you.
